The 555nm wavelength represents the peak of the photopic luminosity function - the maximum sensitivity of the human eye under daylight conditions. This makes it appear significantly brighter than other wavelengths at the same power level:
"The 555nm wavelength provides unmatched visibility for industrial alignment applications. In bright factory environments where other laser wavelengths become difficult to see, the G555D050 maintains clear visibility even at distances exceeding 100 meters, significantly improving worker efficiency and reducing alignment errors."
- Industrial Metrology Applications Guide
The G555D050 utilizes advanced Diode-Pumped Solid-State (DPSS) technology to achieve reliable 555nm output. This design provides exceptional wavelength stability and power consistency throughout the operational lifetime. The integrated NTC thermistor enables precise temperature monitoring and compensation, ensuring optimal performance across varying environmental conditions.
The 555nm wavelength corresponds exactly to the peak sensitivity of the human photopic vision curve, making this laser appear approximately 3.5 times brighter than a 633nm red laser and 2 times brighter than a 532nm green laser of the same power. This efficiency makes it ideal for applications requiring maximum visibility with minimal power consumption.
Class 3B laser product. Avoid direct eye exposure. Use appropriate laser safety eyewear (OD 3+ @ 555nm). Follow all safety protocols per IEC 60825-1 and 21 CFR 1040.10. Maximum permissible exposure limits apply.
